But then I remembered, I'm not in school, and I don't like writing formal essays
So here's what it was going to be about:
I have this theory about the whole Democrat/Republican bullshit that's gone on since the recent election. Wanna hear it? Of course you do =]
My theory is that since the die-hard Republicans are so used to getting their way, that now that the Democrats have the majority for the first time since Carter, the Republicans are going to get... how to put this... Jealous and ignorant. Now, I may be wrong, but the Republicans I know and see and hear from day to day are willfully creating a void of information for themselves. Rather than hear Prez Obama speak, they listen to little snippets taken out of context on their "conservative" news stations. I'm all for having both sides of the story, conservative and liberal alike, but now the Republicans are doing to prez Obama exactly what the Democrats did to Prez Bush, by taking everything out of context and not taking in the whole of what he has to say.
I think that because of this, they are going to make themselves uneducated, at least as far as what is going on in politics, which will keep them from gaining back the lead that they've taken for granted for so long. My thoughts are that this was what the Democrats did for so long, but it took something as startling and infuriating (to them) as the war/911 to force them to look back at those news feeds that they had avoided for so long.
Now that the Democrats have begun paying attention in large numbers, and the Republicans are too busy cutting off their nose despite their face, the Republicans will be unhappy for an indefinite amount of time: however long it takes for something to happen so epic that they are forced to actually learn facts instead of opinions, which, frankly, is something neither party is really noted for.
When will the "opposing parties" realize that they are both members of the same spoiled demographic? We live in a Democratic Republic, and the only thing that keeps us from another civil war is.... what? a war across the seas? The ability to yell at each other and 'debate' instead of shoot guns and cannons? What exactly is keeping us from a civil war? Does anyone know? Are we in a civil war? I think we are.
Please don't get all pissy with me and call me names, it's just a thought. If you don't like it, if you don't agree, tell me why in a calm, non-mean way, please? otherwise, I will either block or report you, depending on the severity of the insult. I wouldn't put this at the end, if I didn't already know the type of commenters out there. Thank you, please feel free to comment.
